When Rocketlane is the better choice
Choose Rocketlane if you are a software vendor or services firm running many customer implementations and you need a customer portal, resource management and time tracking.
What Rocketlane is
Rocketlane is built for software vendors and service teams that onboard their own customers. It has a customer portal, resource management, time tracking and AI features, and customer members are unlimited.
Two sides of the same project
This comparison is different from the others, because Rocketlane and HRjects sit on opposite sides of the table.
- The vendor's side. A vendor runs many implementations at once. They need to staff them, track hours, keep each customer updated and repeat the same delivery plan. Rocketlane is made for that.
- The customer's side. An HR team runs one rollout, rarely, and owns everything the vendor's plan leaves out: mapping today's processes, the business case, internal sign-offs, parallel payroll, training and the go-live decision. HRjects is made for that.
Where Rocketlane is stronger
- Customer portal. Rocketlane has one. HRjects has no portal. It has a Guest role that lets one outside person into one project.
- Resource management and time tracking. Needed when you staff many projects. HRjects has neither.
- AI features. Rocketlane has them. HRjects has none today.
- Running many projects. Rocketlane is built for teams that do this. A portfolio view is planned for HRjects and not built.
- Track record. Rocketlane is an established product. HRjects is in preview.
Where HRjects is different
- Phase gates with HR exit criteria, signed off by your own HR, IT, Finance and Legal people, with a record of who ticked each one and when.
- Current-state and future-state process maps for your processes, with gaps that become tasks.
- A parallel payroll tracker and a go-live readiness score that give your steering group a Go or No-go.
- A business case workspace for the decision to buy in the first place.
When we checked its HR pages and template gallery on October 8, 2026, we found nothing specific to HR software implementation, such as phase gates with HR exit criteria, current-versus-future process maps tied to tasks, parallel payroll tracking or a go-live readiness score. That is what we found on those pages on that date, and the product may be able to do more.
Price
Rocketlane lists Standard at $49 and Premium at $69 per team member per month billed annually, with a 5-member minimum and unlimited customer members. HRjects is free during the preview. Its Team plan is planned at $15 per editor per month billed annually and is not on sale yet.
Which to choose
Choose Rocketlane if you are a vendor or a services firm delivering implementations to customers at volume. Choose HRjects if you are the HR team receiving one. If your vendor already uses a tool like Rocketlane for their plan, you may still want HRjects for the work on your side, with the vendor's consultant invited as a Guest.
Prices are each vendor's public list prices, per user per month billed annually, as of October 2026. Prices change, so check the vendor's site. Product names are trademarks of their owners. This comparison is HRjects' own.
