Log issues during testing and hypercare
Log a problem with a severity, module and owner, move it from Open to Resolved, and see how critical issues affect go-live readiness.
The Issues workspace is a light log for problems found in testing and in the weeks after go-live. It is meant to be quick to use, so testers will use it.
Log an issue
- Open the project and go to Issues.
- Add an issue and describe it in one sentence. Say what happened and what you expected.
- Choose a severity: Critical, High, Medium or Low.
- Choose the module. Modules are the project's workstreams, such as Payroll or Time & absence.
- Add an owner if you know who will fix it.
New issues start as Open.
Choosing a severity
| Severity | Use it when |
|---|---|
| Critical | It would pay someone wrongly, show data to the wrong people, or stop a required process. Go-live should not happen with it open. |
| High | A main process fails or needs a manual workaround. |
| Medium | Something is wrong and people can still do their work. |
| Low | Wording, layout and other small things. |
These definitions are suggestions. Agree your own with the team before testing starts.
Update an issue
Change the status to In progress when someone picks it up and to Resolved when the fix has been retested.
How issues affect the rest of the project
- Open Critical and High issues are listed on the Overview under what needs attention.
- Any Critical issue that is not Resolved fails the "No open critical issues" check in Go-live readiness. The project shows No-go until it is resolved.
Who can do what
- Owners and Editors: log, change status and remove issues.
- Contributors: log issues and change their status.
- Guests: log issues. This suits an outside tester or a vendor consultant.
Keep personal data out
Describe the problem without naming employees or including pay figures. "Carryover balance missing for six migrated employees" tells the fixer what to look for. Keep the list of names in your HR system.

A no-login issue form for testers and issue sync with Jira and ServiceNow are planned.
